Happy 1st Birthday

Preston and Parker! I can't believe the twins are 1! seems like yesterday when they were born... Decadent and I made these Yo Gabba Gabba chocolate covered pretzel sticks for the past weekend. I love all the bright colors, they're just so fun and brilliant!

Here are the Character Chocolate Covered Pretzel Sticks:
Plex, Toodee, Brobee, Muno, Foofa and DJ Lance

Character and Customized Chocolate Covered Pretzel Sticks

These are great treats to add to any candy station or dessert bar!

Here are pictures I snagged from facebook:

Lin and Peter made the cutest twins ever! This party was amazing! If you haven't noticed, Lin's attention to detail gives photographers great photo ops. But these pictures don't do this party any justice! I'm glad I was on the invite list!!

craw dads pt.2

craving crawfish? head over to l.a.f.b.'s casino and have yourself some all you can eat crawfish cake balls buffet! except at this buffet, you don't suck the head and pinch the tails.. you just take a big o bite of the head/body and find a nice surprise cake center :)
that's right, crawfish cake balls! by no means are these crawfish flavored cake balls... ew.. or would it be ew? hmm crawfish corn bread balls?? maybe worth trying..anyone wanna order those? i'd be happy to experiment! the corn and potatoes were not as challenging as expected. our customer's idea of having corn and potatoes in the batch was a nice detailed touch to the order. we sifted cocoa powder with powdered sugar on the top of the potatoes to give a rustic look to them which gave them a more realistic feel. the corn was imprinted to decadent's perfection. The details on the crawfish included its claws, tail and beady eyes which were made of fondant and sprinkles. Limbs were made a day earlier to save some time. here's a picture provided by our second time customer, Miss Thao :) thanks for the cute idea and support! they were a hit at your party as were your previous party.

m.v.t.

those are the initials of the lil man we will welcome to the world soon!

I was really excited to make these..

always wanted to put facial expressions on a cake ball,

especially baby expressions!

this was the perfect opportunity to do so :)

up close and personal: the rattle, booties and facial expressions are all made from fondant. 2 flavors: red velvet and lemon cake

the skin color was easier to mix than i thought it would have been.. a little milk chocolate and vanilla chocolate with a little yellow food color did the trick.

Here's the gang all together. I love how one of them look like they have a double chin! and how the paper cup holders look like baby bonnets!

Congrats "lil mama"

i hope you enjoy them :)

can't wait to meet the lil man when he arrives!

UPDATE:

here's a sonogram of the lil man :)

and a nice quote I came across,"A baby will make love stronger, days shorter, nights longer, bankroll smaller, home happier, clothes shabbier, the past forgotten, and a future worth living for."

Craw dads!

REPOST:

this post has been posted, taken down and reposted

So we had a request to make.. crawfish!! how cute is that? In my head I thought twizzlers would work as limbs.. I wish I took a better before picture..here's one from a picture text:

hahah this was funny to me..the poor little guy just looks sad.he's pretty pitiful..i'll name him Pitiful Perry.

When Decadent came home.. she totally chucked the twizzler idea! and the heart eyes. lol I really wasn't going to use heart eyes.. it was just in the pantry.. haha.

She renovated it and used fondant for the limbs pictured here.

Lookin' good.. now I want some crawfish!

here's Pretty Paula

we will be making these critters in a few weeks.. look out for an update.

color me yellow

Yesterday, Decadent and I worked on some bouquets and boutineers for our friend Didi's wedding. She's tying the knot this weekend! ~Congrats Didi and James!! Can't wait to see you in your white gown tomorrow! I absolutely love weddings.. heck..i've been in way too many as well! I really love her color choice.. I always see yellows and ivory in wedding blogs and was really happy to help make these. Decadent played hookie and spent the entired day working hard on the boutineers, bridal bouquet and bm bouquets..when I got home, I attempted a few of the bridesmaids bouquets and corsages for the mamas. Photo Op! (our cake ball station transformed into a floral station) 1 Bride's bouquet 16 boutineers 7 Bridesmaid bouquets 4 corsages
My favorite is actually the brides bouquet..these pictures are actually the "before" picture, or incompleted bouquets.. still needed finishing touches such as ribbon around the stems and such..

The bride came and had a preview, she loved the bm's bouquets and actually wanted hers to look more like theirs..and so the bride gets what she wants!

**New pictures to come, will update when we get her wedding pictures.

Also, we want to thank Pinky, her sister and Poopface for helping out yesterday with cake balls as well. Our semi sweatshop couldn't have done it without ya'll! (well, we could have if we skipped dinner and sleep..!)

Have a great weekend everyone :)

YGG

With a little free time today, I decided to work on some requests we've had..
I don't like to waste any supplies so since some of the requests were shades of red/pink I decided to work on these.

If you're not familiar with these characters (bc I wasn't, I had to look them up)the pretzels to the left are from Yo Gabba Gabba, that is just 2 of the characters we will need to make; Muno and Foofa. These were easy peasy.. just time consuming, colors aren't perfect yet..these were just for PRACTICE. There are 4 more characters in this show..will update when we make them. Some of them a little more detailed than these.
Here's a picture of the crew:

To me this is the fun part of doing what we do..
We had a request to make little kidrobot munny's..that will be our next project.

thanks for stopping by,

aliens!

Cake balls and creatures we made for little miss Kiera

Happy 3rd Birthday Kiera poo!
This outgoing little tom boy's current favorite movie is Toy Story. Her mom planned a Toy Story themed party and found a buzz light year pinata. The aliens meshed well with the theme. We made funfetti cake which was a cute idea at the time for a kids party.. but not my personal favorite.

Food! Sushi, chicken wings and spring rolls! yummy in my tummy..

Here we have Kiera with her buddy buzz lightyear in her tabasco tshirt! I like to call her "little richard" because of her curly locks!

And this is what they do to poor buzz after they beat him and stole his candy..threw him into the fire pit..

hope you enjoyed our pictures! (the last three pictures courtesy of Petey boy)

Here we present to you 55 hand crafted red velvet and strawberry (two different strawberry flavored) cake balls.

We tested out two different strawberry recipes, not quite perfected just yet.

Sneak peak to Matt and Thao's engagement balls. Will update with a picture of the couple and their goodies!

Its been a long night, after completing 11 dozen orders.. we're calling it a night.

Good night fellow bloggers and cake ballers!

Update:
Here's a picture of the future Mr. and Mrs. Ha.
Notice her traditional vietnamese dress matches the cake balls!

Cake balls were a hit, brought in some prospective customers (exciting and wonderful news)
20+ bottles of liquor and everyone was wasted by 8 pm, a wild night for sure!
Congrats again Matthew and Thao!

too sweet to be true

Welcome to l.a.f.b.! Here we are joining the blogging world and taking a small bite into this sweet business venture. My best friend and I have joined forces to create your love at first bite.
With the common love for sweets combined with our creativity, we give you these decadent delights!

Valentine's delights

Turtle cheesecake balls

Spring collection

Tiffany Blue and Honeydew Green

Lavender drizzle

Shades of aquamarine
Character balls
Toy Story Aliens
Easter bunnies

These are just a few of cakeballs we've created this year and had a chance to snap pictures of..
In this blog you will read mainly posts narrated by me, "Delight" (Annie) and I will refer to Lily as "Decadent". I know its a lil cheesy.. but hey it's a blog.. its fun to have aliases! Occassionally, Decadent will post blogs as well.. when she gains access..
Behind the scenes:
We both bake, ball, and bedazzle them
I like to dip, I think I'm getting close to becoming a professional, JK!
Decadent is the main drizzler and writer (you do not want me writing, trust me) she has alot of patience and pretty handwriting
And we both love creating character balls, mostly your requests. This part allows us to truly show our creative side!
We both really compliment eachother when working together.. Decadent is super efficient, and me, I'm not really sure.. I execute a plan for our orders? (more like miss bossy) well whatever it is, I think we really do work well together. I'm lucky to have her as a partner!

Thanks for visiting!
